Easy Recipes : Chocolate Mousse Cake

This easy recipes is my cousin’s creation, she divided recipes into two sections, first for chocolate cake, and second for the mousse. This cake is delightful for birthday present, suitable as a gifts in valuable moments, or even simple meal in some valuable events. At simple concept, chocolate cake is made with chocolate so that is why the color of this cake is brown as chocolate, except we modified or innovate with some other colors.

Ingredients for cake :
  • 1 decilitre melted butter
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 decilitre cake flour
  • 2 decilitre sugar
  • 0,5 decilitre chocolate powder
  • 0,5 decilitre melted dark cooking chocolate

Directions :
  • Combine all melted butter, eggs, cake flour, sugar, chocolate powder, and melted dark cooking chocolate.
  • Bake for around 20-30 minutes in 175 celsius degree or until it's fully baked, chilled and put it inside a fridge.
Ingredients and directions for the mousse :
  • Cook 1 decilitre water with 5-10 sheets of gelatin paper until they completely dissolve, set aside and keep stirring.
  • Melt 300 grams of dark cooking chocolate in a double boiler pan or in a microwave and then blend it with 150 ml melted butter. Blend well until it looks like a ganache.
  • Whip 400-500 ml whipped cream until thick.
  • Combine all ingredients for the mousse together but keep around 0,5 decilitre ganache (melted chocolate + melted butter) later for the topping.
  • Combine everything and pour down the mousse into the chilled chocolate cake and refrigerate (freezer) for at least 2 hours.
  • Serve 6 portions.
